Lying in
the middle of the Mediterranean Sea between the south
of Sicily and the northern tip of Africa is the archipelago
of the Maltese Islands covering an area of about 320
sq km. Malta having a population of 392,000 and
an area of 123
sq
km, is
the largest
of
the islands, Gozo which is the second largest has a
population of 25,000, Comino which has only a few families
living on it comes next. The others are uninhabited.
