Looking
like a miniature fiord, this narrow arm of the sea is
an anchorage for boats in calm weather; at the first
sign of a storm the boats are winched up a steep slipway
and landed.
The boats at Wied iz-Zurrieq were, and still are, used
for fishing; now, however, the fishermen are finding
out that it is more lucrative to take visitors to the
nearby Blue Grotto. |
