Convergence

This exhibition "Convergence" focuses on artworks presented by European artists residing in Malta and artists of Maltese origin living in EU countries. It aims to highlight the cultural roots and trends shared by these artists and to promote such inter-cultural dialogue.

European cultural heritage has evolved over time, through exchanges and mutual influences, and displays certain common characteristics that transcend national and regional differences.

This interplay of diversity and constancy perfectly illustrates the regional, national and European roots of Europe's citizens.

Cultural policy, as the Maastricht Treaty underlines in its Preamble, has a part to play in the building of Europe. This exhibition organised by the Delegation of the Commission of the European Communities i Malta is a modest contribution to an even closer union among th people of Europe.
